Russian Center – Definition and Mission

The Russkiy Mir Foundation has undertaken an international cultural project to develop Russian Centers in partnership with educational organizations around the world.

The Foundation's Russian Centers are created with the aim of popularizing Russian language and culture as a crucial element of world civilization, supporting Russian language study programs abroad, developing cross-culture dialog and strengthening understanding between cultures and peoples.

Russian Centers represent the diversity of Russkiy Mir, unifying all the elements of Russian history and culture.  Russkiy Mir is comprised of people of various nationalities and confessions, Russian citizens and compatriots abroad, émigrés and foreign citizens with an interest in Russia.

Russian Centers offer access to the broad cultural, historic and literary heritage of Russkiy Mir, to methods and practice of Russian education, to modern creative ideas and programs. The centers organize their work on the principle of openness, transparency and tolerance.

 

 

 

Russian Center – Comprehensive and Multifunctional

The Foundation's Russian Centers are structured as a unique modular complex with a basic functional set of offerings as well as special programs oriented toward the country in which the center is based.  The Foundation regularly supplements and renews the materials made available at the centers.

Russian Centers operate in a systemic and multifunctional manner.
Russian Centers are resource centers that provide access to a broad range of learning materials and popular science information from Russia.

Russian Centers function as an educational system facilitating the study of Russian language and culture based on progressive methodology and programs.

Russian Centers are creative and communicative platforms providing the opportunity to organize artistic performances, academic discussions and informal gatherings of representatives of various cultural groups.


Russian Center – Contents

Russian Centers are equipped with print, audio and video materials from Russia organized into the following categories:  Culture and Art; Science; Education; Russian Language; History; Society; and Contemporary Russia.

Russian Centers News

Russian Center at the Dalian University of Foreign Languages held a meeting with Russian filmmakers in the frames of the 3d Chinese-Russian Culture and Art Festival called Amur Autumn. The festival took place in Liaoning on September, 26-28.
On September 13 the Russian Center at Ho Chi Minh City State Pedagogical University hosted a thematic meeting with students of the Russian language department dedicated to the 190th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian writer Leo Tolstoy.
The exhibition demonstrates books from the library of the center, department of the Slavic Philology and Central University Library. Visitors are welcome to get acquainted with books on Russian icon-painting traditions, Russian cathedrals, church arts, history of Orthodoxy and pilgrimage destinations in Russia.
In the first half of 2018 teachers of Russian as a foreign language met at Russian Center in Budapest for tutorial Saturdays 5 times in order to exchange experience, ideas and ask questions on methodology of teaching the Russian language in Hungary.
An exhibition called Fantasy of Colors by senior teacher Marina Vestfrid was opened in Nuremberg. The children presented their acryl works inspired by a wonderful world of flowers – flowers in the garden, in the park, flowers in vases and in the field, bunches of flowers at people’s hands and as an ornament of the clothing.
